The Huddersfield group was the very first SAM Networking group to be launched. We had our first meeting during the first pandemic lockdown, with everyone saying, ‘ Oh, we’ll be fine by the Summer!’. NOT?! So, everything kicked off on Zoom. We made it work; we still met every week and passed business where we could. More challenging online, as whilst a handful of us knew each other in person, lots of us hadn’t met.
A little later on in the year, we were able to meet in person for a short while whilst standing 2m apart, but this was still fantastic. That’s when the magic really started to happen. The group grew and we now hover around the 30 mark. The groups won’t be any bigger than 30 as we have an awful lot to say every week.
Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is a great location for networking. Halfway between Leeds and Manchester, home to lots of thriving businesses and a Town Centre undergoing a spot of regeneration. Check out www.huddersfieldbid.co.uk to see what’s in the pipeline. For the foodies reading this, my top tip would be to visit www.manorhouselindley.co.uk, my favourite local! They’ve just been awarded a third AA rosette.
Ready to Grow Your Business with SAM Networking?
A conglomeration of extremely pleasant, local, very experienced and inspirational professionals (some start-ups too), motivating each other to do business, referring genuine potential business partners to each other through an enormous network of contacts and simply supporting one other with advice and wisdom when things can get tough.
All peppered with a little humour (who wants to attend a miserable business meeting?!) and some members just choosing to have a catch-up over a delicious breakfast/lunch and a cup of fresh coffee. Whatever works for you.
